This group of hens was rescued from battery cages (tiny wire cages the size of a filing cabinet drawer with 5-8 hens squeezed into each) in California. At just two years old, the industry was ready to gas them and send them to a landfill as trash because their eggs were no longer profitable. Now, these girls and many of their sisters call sanctuaries throughout the U.S. home. This is why we are EGG FREE!
