Mr. Jill came to us from a NYC slaughter house. His life was spared from when he was a mere six to eight weeks old. His wing was broken due to the rough handling he received at the slaughterhouse as he was ripped out of his cage by his wing. He was very ill, as most animals are that are raised for meat and was nursed back to health while his wing healed. Now he is a very imposing bird at the farm with a huge personality.
He is best friend to all new animals that come to the farm. Many times he will hang out with an animal who is quarantine so the animal will not have be alone. Mr. Jill was named after Jill Phipps, a British animal rights activist who was crushed to death during an animal rights protest. He was rescued on the anniversary of her death.
