Merci is wearing a lovely shade of egg shadow! **People often ask, “what we do with the eggs that our birds produce?” We feed them back to part of the animal population on the farm. Our avian population in particular as they do not naturally lay eggs every day...quite the contrary. Chickens naturally lay only 12 to 24 eggs a year. By feeding them their eggs back we are replenishing all of the vitamins they lose every day to egg production!** If you’re interested in sponsoring Merci or any of our other turkeys just click the link in our bio!

It is with broken hearts that we let you know our dear, sweet, baby Moira did not survive. She passed away in the night leaving behind a giant hole in our hearts. From the moment we met her we knew she was a very special lady. The sweetest turkey we have ever met, she is now free - free from the pain and the horror she had to endure as a animal raised for food. Along with her wounds she had a horrible infection and was terribly sick just like many animals slaughtered for food. The odds of her ever making it to Sanctuary were one in 46 million but make it she did. We are grateful to her rescuers and grateful we had the chance to spend the past four days giving her the love and care that all animals deserve. This Thanksgiving think of Moira and all of the animals raised for food. Broken down, diseased and alone each one suffering their whole lives before they are eaten. Go vegan. 💔
